Web Sites Come in Many Formats
Want an simple web site to let customers know some basic information about your business, such as where you are located, your phone number or perhaps your business hours? Do you have reference documents your employees or customers need easy access to and you would like them all stored in one place in a format they can all access, irregardless of their software or platform? You can do either, or both, through ABC's web site design packages.

What Good are Websites - Are They Really Needed?
There are many approaches to gaining a presence on the web. But before we go any further, let's clarify right now the question of "Is a web presence really needed for a business?". Our position is absolutely. If you're in business you should have a presence on the Internet if for no other reason than to let people know that you really do exist and here is a phone number or address to prove it.

Cost of a web site can vary depending on the complexity or size of the site, but it doesn't have to cost a lot to have a simple basic website. If fact, compared to other forms of media advertising, a web site is a downright bargain. Also, I don't look at a simple website as an advertising tool as much as it is an informational tool, much like the yellow pages or business white pages. Generally, most people are not looking for advertising, it's designed to pop up unexpectedly and usually promotes a special item or sale. When we use the phone book, we are looking for a business for a specific reason or purpose. It may be that we want to know where they are located, or what hours they are open or if they carry the product we are looking for, etc. This is exactly how a website works for a business except it has a big advantage. It's always accessible on the net 24x7 and it is easily found by keyword searching (or it should be if set up right).

So How Does Anyone Find Me?
There are Trillions of pages on the internet, so how does a customer find your page or site. Let's try a little experiment. Google.com is the best search engine on the net for my money. Try doing a search for "Madison Business" and see what comes up out of all the pages it finds with those keywords. I'll make it easy for you, just click on this link here.

Of the 1.65 million or so web pages with Madison Business referenced by Google how do you think it is that our business directory, The Madison Business Internet Guide is listed first and Associated Business Consultants is right below it. How many Madisons are there in the world and how many businesses are there? That is what keywords and cross linking will do for you. While we can't promise that all web site will be treated the same way by Google or any other search engine, we can usually do a pretty good job at getting a site listed on the first couple of pages. Contact us if you want to learn more.

While all websites would ideally be completely original works of art, we understand how hesitant small businesses are to simply agree to an hourly rate and pay for however many hours it takes to bring forth a custom web design. ABC and it's affiliate vendors have developed a means of reducing the cost of web development by combining the use of predesigned web templates with the clients original text/image content, resulting in a website that is more likely to be satisfactory to the client in appearance and functionality. It will also more likely be completed in a shorter period of time and at much less cost than the traditional custom design approach.

ABCon Internet Marketing Services offers a unique approach to purchasing a web site. We offer a series of licensed web site templates which may be purchased, modified and maintained by the client. Or if the client wishes, they may select and purchase a web template design and ABC will modify and maintain the web design for the client at our standard hourly rate.

Services such as registering a domain name (www.yourcompany.com), web hosting and securing an internet connections are in addition to the price of the web design template. Also, such things as placing an email link on a web page assumes you already have an email address to link to. ABC will be happy to take care any or all of these details for you on one convenient bill or you can arrange those other aspects of the website yourself.

Each web page within your site will hold approximately 2000 characters of text that fit on letter-size paper with standard margins. It's possible to fit more text on a single web page, but it would take longer to add more text to the page. Normally we estimate between one and two hour per web page for adding text. Images or pictures may take a little extra time because of the image processing that is necessary prior to page placement.

It is also less costly if the client provides his text content and/or images on a disk or email attachment. Any transcribing or converting of text/images ABC has to do will result in additional time charges.

Available web design templates may be viewed and purchased at our Template Gallery.

Once you have selected your web design template you may order your web hosting package, register your domain name with us and setup any email addresses you may desire such as help@your_domain.com, sales@your_domain.com, etc.
